It was a time of adjustment, Yoshihisa saying, “In Japan there is a lot more practice, a lot more going into the bullpens, and then you go into the games. Here, there’s not much practice, but you’re preparing with being in the game.”He experimented with a slider and was also having to come to terms with the slightly different feel of the baseball, “I throw the ball every day, but it still feels slippery. It does run more, but I’m not in love with it yet. Hirano may also want to test the free-agent market next winter, especially if he proves his credentials further with a good sophomore season. But, for now, I look forward to seeing many more opposing batters, waving over the top of the Yoshi splitter in 2019. Likewise, Chargois strengthens the bullpen, but he is a middle-innings option and has struggled to limit walks.Triston McKenzie and Yu Chang to Cincinnati for Scooter Gennett and Amir Garrett. This gives you a consistently above-average offensive second baseman, allowing you to move Jason Kipnis to the outfield full-time, and a promising back-end reliever under control for five more seasons.
