The Broncos opened the 2017 season with a 2-0 record and then lost nine of their last 10 games on the way to finishing the season with a 5-11 record. It looked like this season might be headed in the same direction. The Broncos won their first two games and then lost six of seven heading into their bye week. The two weeks since the bye have seen the team deviate from the path they followed last season Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , however. The Broncos beat the Chargers on the road in Week 11 and then came home to beat the Steelers last Sunday to stabilize their record and start some people talking about the possibility of making a playoff run. Head coach Vance Joseph tried to slow down that talk this week.“We’re 5-6; that’s it,” Joseph said, via the Denver Post. “We’ve done nothing up to this point. If we don’t win Sunday, we’re 5-7 — that’s ugly.”A win on Sunday in Cincinnati against a 5-6 Bengals team that just lost its quarterback would likely spur even more talk about where the Broncos can go this year because the 49ers, Browns and Raiders follow the Bengals on the schedule. Beating those teams may not qualify as doing something, but it could put the team in position to do so with another win over the Chargers to close the regular season.Broncos vs Ravens over the years Good morning, Broncos CountryFor the first time in 2018, the Denver Broncos take to the road. All week, the coaches and players have talked about the need to play a complete game today against the Baltimore Ravens. Will that come to fruition or will fans need to down the Tums to soothe their gut? On the lastest MHR Radio Podcast, Adam Malnati and I give our keys to the games and players to watch. You also can check out my weekly segment with Michael Klahr and Mark Knudson, where we talk about how Broncos fans aren’t shocked to be 2-0, but they ask me what is working and what is of concern heading into Baltimore (my segment starts at the 24-minute mark). Before the next chapter gets written, let’s look back at the short history of the rivalry, as well as news and notes for today’s game, courtesy of Denver’s weekly release.HistoryThe Broncos own a 6-5 all-time regular-season record vs the Ravens — 1-4 in Baltimore; 5-1 in Denver. The first game between the two teams was played Oct. 20, 1996, at Mile High Stadium, Denver won 45-34. The most recent opened the 2015 season with the Broncos winning 19-13.In the weekly release, it says the Broncos longest winning streak is two games, but since it’s based on regular-season games, it’s actually three (which is active heading into today’s game). The current streak started with a 34-17 win on Dec. 16, 2012, in Baltimore. The longest winning streak for the Ravens is three games, from Sept. 30, 2001-Oct. 26, 2003. The last Broncos home win was the season opener in 2015; while their last home loss was the Sept. 30 game listed above, 20-13. The last win for the Broncos in Baltimore was the start of their current three-game winning streak in Dec. 2012. The last Ravens win at home was Oct. 10 Youth Emmanuel Sanders Jersey , 2010, 31-17. Interesting note: Neither team has a shutout in this series. The most points for the Broncos is 49, from a 49-27 win on Sept. 5, 2013, in Denver. The most for the Ravens is 34 (done twice), the last coming in a 34-23 win on Sept. 30, 2002, in Baltimore. The most combined points (79) for the Broncos and Ravens came from the first game they played in Oct. 1996, in Denver. The fewest points combined (16) came in a Broncos 13-3 win on Oct. 9, 2006, in Denver. The Broncos and Ravens have met twice in the NFL playoffs, once in Baltimore (Dec. 31, 2000) and once in Denver (Jan. 12, 2012). As Broncos Country knows, the Broncos lost both games. Thus there is absolutely no need to talk any further about either game. Broncos tidbits to watch for todayDenver is looking to hold its opponent to 300 or fewer net passing yards for the 37th-straight game. That would be the longest streak by an NFL team since the Indianapolis Colts (52) from 2005-08.Broncos quarterback Case Keenum needs one passing touchdown to reach 50 for his #NFL career. Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders needs 10 catches to tie Brandon Marshall (the receiver) for ninth place on the Broncos all-time receptions list. Broncos cornerback Adam Jones needs 68 punt return yards to become the 39th player in NFL history with 2,000 punt return yards. Broncos safety Darian Stewart needs six tackles to reach 400 for his career. Stewart also started 14-of-16 regular-season games, as well as two in the playoffs, in his only season with the Ravens in 2014.Broncos linebacker Von Miller needs 1.5 sacks to tie Ken Harvey (89) for 47th on the NFL’s all-time sack list. Watch for Miller and the Orange Rush to wreck Flacco/Sunday’s game. BTW Broncos Country needs to get this shirt. The Broncos are 2-0 for the sixth consecutive year to represent the longest active streak in the NFL. The last team to start 2-0 in six-straight seasons was the Miami Dolphins from 1994-99. The Broncos have won their first two games via fourth-quarter game-winning drives. This is the third time in Denver history a team has started 2-0 thanks to fourth-quarter comebacks. The two prior times were 2007 and 1983. In the Broncos 20-19 win over the Oakland Raiders last Sunday, they did so by overcoming a 12-point deficit in the second-half. It’s the 10th time that has happened in franchise history. The most recent (24 points) was the magical 35-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 15, 2012. Since the 1970 NFL merger, the Broncos are 109-56-3 in the month of September. That is the second-best winning percentage (.659) in the league in that span, behind the Dallas Cowboys (.667).The MHR Radio Podcast is now on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher and TuneIn.
