PARIS, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- French police on Friday evacuated thousands of migrants from where they were camped outside Stalingrad Metro Station, north Paris, according to Ile-de-France prefecture.
Regional authorities cleared the migrant camp in the French capital where flows of refugees had increased in the past week after officials had removed the Calais "jungle" in northern France last week.
Earlier on Friday, 3,852 people were transferred to 78 shelters across Paris and its suburbs, the regional prefecture said in a statement.
According to Paris police, 600 police officers were deployed to remove tents and makeshift shelters where migrants, mainly from from Sudan, Libya, Syria and Somalia, had been sleeping for months.
"We have places to receive everyone...It's going well," housing minister Emmanuelle Cosse was quoted as saying in Le Point magazine.
"There are a lot of newcomers. It is essential that we shelter them. The aim is that these people are relocated in reception centers as quickly as possible," she added.
In September, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo pledged to open two centers for refugees by year-end as part of a plan to tackle camping in the capital's streets and better receive thousands of asylum seekers who had fled war and poverty in their native countries.
The French government pledged that 9,000 places would be made available at 460 reception and orientation centers for refugees. They are to be dispersed into groups of 40 to 50 people for a limited period between three and four months.
Migrants who fit the asylum criteria will stay in France while those who do not will be repatriated.
ROME, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Some 1,900 migrants and refugees were saved in rescue operation in the southern Mediterranean Sea on Friday, and dozens were feared missing, Italian officials said.
The Italian coast guard coordinated some 17 rescue missions overall in the Strait of Sicily, between Italy and Libya, which also involved three Italy's navy ships, four tug boats and a commercial vessel diverted in the area to provide first assistance.
Overall, about 1,900 people were found sailing aboard of 10 rubber dinghies, the coast guard said.
However, several dozens of other migrants were also feared to have drowned after a possible shipwreck of an overcrowded fishing boat occurred off the Libyan coasts, Italian media reported.
Rescue ships were indeed sent in a reconnaissance mission by the Italian coast guard, after receiving several help calls reporting about 350 people in the waters.
At least 130 migrants were assisted and 10 bodies were recovered in this mission, but no further information about the overall number of missing people were immediately available.
This rescue operation was still on going late on Friday.
If confirmed, it would be the third major tragedy involving migrants in the Mediterranean, in as many days.
So far this week, an estimated 10,000 migrants and refugees overall have been rescued in the southern Mediterranean by naval forces involved in the European Union (EU) naval mission EUNAVFOR MED and EU borders agency Frontex.
Some 4,100 were saved on Thursday alone.
Tens of thousands of people keep departing from the Libyan coasts, trying to reach Europe through the perilous journey in the Mediterranean, and their number has surged after the recent closure of the so-called Balkan route.
Some 40,532 people have arrived in Italy by sea from January to May 26, according to the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR. At least 1,512 were reported dead or missing up to the same date.
In choosing an EMR system for an ophthalmology practice Martinas Rankin Texans Jersey , a major factor to consider is the system s ability to handle high resolution images.
At our practice we have a multi sub specialty which includes glaucoma and retina, which require that electronic images are viewable from devices such as both digital fluorescein cameras and ocular coherence tomography Justin Reid Texans Jersey , GDx and HRT.
Many EMR systems have viewing modules built in. Some practices may want to consider a solution which has more robust capability, such as the ability to view multiple images at the same time Will Fuller V Youth Jersey , meanwhile scrolling through other reports, along with the ability to view images over a WAN between office locations.
I recently spoke with Steve Thomas D'Onta Foreman Youth Jersey , CRA of Florida Opthalmic Consultants, an independent imaging consultant for ophthalmologists. I asked him about the key factors that a practice needs to consider when selecting an imaging system. His responses:
1. Durability. This is based on the reputation of the manufacturer and the average amount of use. Can you get it fixed fast if it breaks? Who provides the technical support?
2. Expandability. After the system has been in use for a number of years Benardrick McKinney Youth Jersey , will you need additional computer resources to manage the increasing patient image information? How do you backup this information to protect loss?
3. Affordability. This is based on your patient volume how many fluorescein angiograms (FA) and fundus photos (FP) are typically performed? Based on the revenue from this volume what does the system cost to run and maintain?
4. Licensing. Is the system licensed per practice, per doctor Kevin Johnson Youth Jersey , or per user? If it is per user, does the system limit how many users can be logged on at any one time? Can you network the system into all your exam rooms without having to purchase additional licenses?
5. Interoperability. Is it a self contained system? Will it dovetail easily with your existing EMR system? Or is the digital part from a third party manufacturer Nick Martin Youth Jersey , complicating service issues when the system goes down?
