Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey equipped the Double Balancier with mechanical devices that overcome the chronograph function. Two inclined steering wheels can optimize its performance in a stable position, while a constant spherical differential can provide greater amplitude regularity. The rose gold case and hands enhance the sophistication of the single product.
The tilted Double Balancier prototype was first released at the 2009 Basel International Watch and Jewellery Show after a long-term study of multiple regulators in Greubel Forsey's EWT laboratory. When initially superimposed, the two inclined adjustment members are now in separate and different three-dimensional planes. This new setting helps improve timing performance, while the constant spherical difference halves the margin of error.
